The Big Fish, Small Fish Stories is a collection of Values Education books specifically designed for children. While it stresses the value of appreciating nature (especially marine life), it emphasizes the mother-child relationship and focuses on the value of obedience obeying parents, in particular.

Each book is fully illustrated and is written in a short and simple way, such that children could read it on their own. Busy mothers/teachers would also have time to interact and imagine with the children the possibilities if they are to experience the same situations in the story.

Each story is intended to help children understand the wisdom to listening to their parents, These are situations in each story where they are presented with probable consequences if they should disobey their parents. Some situation also imply that the children are accountable for their action and that they can solve looming problems in their own little way, thus highlighting the values of responsibility and self-reliance.
